Combo · ENGINE
The end-of-turn Cleanup heals at 3c and expires at 3d, so a body pumped over twelve survives your own wipe AND survives losing the pump

OGN-123 · payoff · mind
Exhaust all friendly units, then deal 12 to ALL units at battlefields.

Payoff
Deck
- Calm + Mind: Whiteflame Protector is mono-Calm and Unchecked Power mono-Mind (103.1.b.3), so the legend must hold both and the pool prints exactly four names — OGN-255 Nine-Tailed Fox, SFD-189 Fire Below the Mountain, UNL-189 Bashful Bloom and VEN-145 Curator of the Sands (103.1.b.2).
- Neither card is banned or restricted in either format, and neither is a Signature card.
- Both have to be paid in the same Main Phase: the +8 is 'this turn', so the Protector must be played on the turn you wipe. That is 15 Energy and 4 Power in one turn — the line is a late-game reset, not a tempo play.
Prerequisites
- THE SEQUENCE INSIDE THE END-OF-TURN CLEANUP IS WHAT MAKES THIS SURVIVABLE, AND IT IS EASY TO GET BACKWARDS. 317.2.b inserts '3c. Heal all Units' and 317.2.c inserts '3d. All "this turn" effects expire simultaneously' — heal FIRST, expire SECOND. So at end of turn the Protector still has 12 damage marked and Might 16 (not lethal by 143.2.a, 'nonzero damage marked on it equalling or exceeding its Might'), 3b kills nothing, 3c wipes the damage off, and only then does 3d take the +8 away and leave a clean 8 Might body. Reverse those two steps and the Protector dies at the end of your own turn — which is exactly what 142.4.b's worked example describes for a body whose Might drops while damage is marked.
- ARITHMETIC WITH THE QUANTITIES DECLARED. Play Whiteflame Protector for 8 Energy + 2 Calm Power and aim its trigger at ITSELF ('give a unit' has no restriction): Might 16 this turn. Play Unchecked Power for 7 Energy + 2 Mind Power: every unit at every battlefield takes 12. Anything at 12 Might or less dies — which is every unit in the pool except a Master Yi, Unstoppable at exactly 12, who also dies (142.4.b: lethal is 'greater than or equal to that Unit's Might'). The Protector is at 16 and lives.
- AND EVERYTHING AT A BASE IS UNTOUCHED, WHICH IS THE OTHER HALF OF THE ASYMMETRY. The spell says 'ALL units at battlefields'. 355.2.a makes a player's base a default play location, so a board you have deliberately kept home takes nothing — and so does theirs. The one-sided version of this card is played on a turn when their board is committed and yours is not.
- THE EXHAUST IS THE PRICE, AND IT COSTS YOU THE TURN RATHER THAN THE COMBAT. 'Exhaust all friendly units' hits everything you control. 144.2 makes exhausting the cost of the Standard Move, so nothing of yours can walk afterwards; but 464.2.c.3 and 465.2.b do not filter by ready or exhausted state, so an exhausted body still fights at full Might on defence. And Unchecked Power carries neither [Action] nor [Reaction], so 155 confines it to 'an Open State outside of Showdowns on its controller's turn' — you cannot cast it inside a combat to blow one open. Wipe on your turn, attack on the next after 315.1.b readies everything.
- IT CHOOSES NOTHING, WHICH IS WHY IT GOES THROUGH EVERYTHING. 355.10.d: an object 'programmatically selected based on its characteristics rather than chosen' is not targeted, and the rule's own example is 'Kill all units at battlefields'. So [Deflect] never taxes this (809.1.c charges only for choosing), and SFD-045 Not So Fast — which answers what 'chooses a friendly unit or gear' — cannot counter it. Only a general counter such as OGN-064 Wind Wall stops it.
- THE PROTECTOR'S TRIGGER IS BETTER SPENT ELSEWHERE ON ANY OTHER TURN. '+8 :rb_might: this turn' on an attacker is eight more damage assigned (465.2.c); aiming it at itself is worth doing only on the turn you are wiping, and it is the entry's whole cost of admission. On a turn without Unchecked Power, point it at whatever is fighting.
Steps
- Wait for a turn when the opponent's board is committed to battlefields and yours is not — or when you are willing to lose it.
- In your Main Phase, play Whiteflame Protector for 8 Energy + 2 Calm Power to a battlefield and aim its play trigger at ITSELF: +8 Might this turn, so it stands at 16.
- Play Unchecked Power for 7 Energy + 2 Mind Power. All your units are exhausted, then every unit at every battlefield takes 12.
- Everything at 12 Might or less dies (142.4.b). The Protector has 12 damage marked against Might 16 and survives; anything either player left at a base is untouched.
- At the end-of-turn Cleanup, 3b kills nothing of yours, 3c heals the 12 off (317.2.b), and only then does 3d expire the +8 (317.2.c). The Protector ends the turn a clean 8 Might body.
- Your next Awakening Phase readies everything (315.1.b) and you attack into an empty board.
Per iteration
every enemy unit at a battlefield of 12 Might or less killed, with one 8 Might body of yours left standing, for 15 Energy and 4 Power in a single turn
How it ends
engine only — one wipe per Unchecked Power, three copies by 103.2.b, and it costs you the turn's attack because it exhausts your whole board; nothing here scores

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07 (issue #174, the Calm/Mind lane). OGN-123 Unchecked Power was in NO entry before this; OGN-082 Whiteflame Protector entered the catalogue earlier in this same walk (whiteflame-last-stand-zhonyas-double-might), where its Might is doubled rather than used to clear a self-inflicted wipe. THE LOAD-BEARING SEQUENCE IS THE CLEANUP ORDER: 317.2.b's '3c. Heal all Units' runs BEFORE 317.2.c's '3d. All "this turn" effects expire simultaneously', which is the only reason a body pumped over the wipe does not die at the end of its own turn when the pump goes away — 142.4.b's worked example is exactly that failure mode. Ban check: neither card is banned or restricted. Trap check: the wipe is symmetric at battlefields and misses both bases (355.2.a); it exhausts your own board, so the attack is next turn; 155 keeps it out of a Showdown; it chooses nothing (355.10.d), so [Deflect] does not tax it and Not So Fast cannot counter it — only a general counter can; no unruled reading.
