Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Have Undercover Agent on the board and two Flame Chompers in hand.
  2. Play Heedless Resurrection for 2 Energy + 1 Chaos Power. Its mandatory additional cost (356.2.a.1) kills the Agent; 428.1.a.1 makes it an Active Kill and 428.1.a.1.b puts the Deathknell on the chain before the kill completes.
  3. The Deathknell resolves: 'Discard 2, then draw 2'. 422.1.a lets you choose - send two Flame Chompers. 422.4 means a short hand discards what it has and still draws 2.
  4. 422.1.b runs each Chompers trigger from the trash: 1 Fury Power each, two 3 Might bodies at your base or a battlefield you control (355.2.a), exhausted (143.4).
  5. Heedless Resurrection resolves: Undercover Agent is in the trash and costs exactly its own cost, so play it back ignoring its cost. It enters exhausted.
  6. Do it again with the second Heedless Resurrection - but only one Flame Chompers is left (103.2.b), so the second cycle is half a cycle.

Per iteration

two 3 Might bodies for 2 Fury Power, a hand of unchanged size, and the Agent back on the board, for 2 Energy + 1 Chaos Power

How it ends

engine only - three Flame Chompers and no route from the trash back to hand, so the discards stop being upside after one cycle and a half

How this entry was audited

REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-discard-trash-lens.md), issue #95 candidate 2, the strongest of the seven. HOLDS AS WRITTEN except for one claim the walk DROPPED rather than inherit: the issue asserted the Deathknell resolves before Heedless Resurrection, and 340.1 plus 428.1.a.1.b do not settle which of the two finalizes last. The entry is written so the order does not matter, because it does not. THE WALK'S ADDITIONS: 808.1.d / 808.1.d.1 opened to show the shield trap cannot bite here (the body does reach the trash), the Karthus fork priced against 103.1.b.1/103.1.b.2 and routed to VEN-155 Heart of the Tempest, and 185/186.1 checked against the kill-as-cost. 385 and 422 were cited by NO entry in the catalogue before this walk (grep: 0 hits for 385, and 422 only as 422.1/422.1.a/422.1.b). Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened: 002, 051, 103.1.b.1, 103.1.b.2, 103.2.b, 143.4, 185, 186.1, 340.1, 355.2.a, 356.1.a, 356.2.a.1, 422.1, 422.1.a, 422.1.b, 422.4, 428.1.a.1, 428.1.a.1.b, 808.1.d, 808.1.d.1. Ban check: none of the three carries a [BANNED marker. Trap check: no Attacker designation; no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no recall; no Gold; no battlefield of its own; all costs are Main Phase or [Reaction] costs, so 167 does not bite. Depends on no unruled reading.
