Deck
- WITHOUT the Henge the line is MONO-FURY and runs under any Fury legend — Vi and Tryndamere are both Fury. Issue #97 asserts a Fury/Body legend unconditionally, which is only true of the Henge version.
- With SFD-117 Ancient Henge the legend must be Fury/Body (103.1.b.1). Four qualify: OGN-249 Relentless Storm, SFD-183 Purifier, UNL-183 Pridestalker, VEN-141 Butcher of the Sands.
- Both bodies at the same enemy-held battlefield, and both must survive the combat to conquer. CORRECTED 2026-10-26 (#464, the follow-up PR #463 listed for #457): neither has to survive to conquer, 466.5: 'If no Showdown or Combat is staged at this location, the player with Units remaining here Establishes Control if they didn’t already control this Battlefield.' One survivor is enough. Tryndamere has to survive to SCORE, 383.4.c.2.a: 'The Conquer Abilities of Units are put on the Chain as Pending Items after the Unit(s) these effects correspond to are present at a Battlefield when a player gains control of it and gains 1 Victory Point from Conquering.' 365.1: 'Passive Abilities of Permanents are typically only active while on the Board.' Vi does not, and in step 6 she dies.
Prerequisites
- THE ISSUE'S ARITHMETIC LEAVES THE PAYOFF OUT OF ITS OWN COMBAT, AND THIS IS THE CORRECTION. It prices one doubling against 'una guarnicion cuyo minimo letal sume 1' and gets exactly 5 excess. Vi attacking alone does leave 5 — but Vi carries no excess payoff. Both payoffs read 'When I conquer after an attack', so OGN-034 or SFD-120 has to be AT that battlefield, and 464.2.c.3 ('Units at the Contested Battlefield controlled by the Attacker or Defender gain the Attacker or Defender designation now') then makes it an attacker too, so 465.2.c ('each player assigns an amount of damage equal to their summed Might') puts its Might into the same sum. Tryndamere alone is M8 and already leaves 7 excess against a 1 Might garrison; the doubling buys nothing there. Vi is worth her Energy on the opposite board: a FAT garrison.
- THE ARITHMETIC WITH THE QUANTITIES DECLARED (1 Vi, 1 Tryndamere). Excess is the attacking sum minus the total lethal the garrison requires (R28 = A). 0 doublings: Vi 3 + Tryndamere 8 = 11, so 5 excess needs a garrison summing 6 or less. 1 doubling (2 Energy + 1 Fury Power): Vi 6, sum 14, garrison 9 or less. 2 doublings (4 Energy + 2 Fury Power): Vi 12, sum 20, garrison 15 or less. 3 doublings (6 Energy + 3 Fury Power): Vi 24, sum 32, garrison 27 or less. 477.3.b is why the ladder compounds instead of adding: the double 'is applied once ... it will snapshot', so it reads Vi's Might at the moment of application — 3, +3, 6, +6, 12, +12, 24. CORRECTED 2026-10-26 (#464, the follow-up PR #463 listed for #457): the garrison bounds above are the excess condition only. The point needs Tryndamere alive at the Conquer, and the defender decides: 465.2.c: 'Starting with the Attacker, each player assigns an amount of damage equal to their summed Might among the other's Units.' With 465.2.c.3: 'Units must have lethal damage assigned to them in full before damage is assigned to a different Unit. Example: If a player has 5 damage to distribute among four 3 Might units, they may not choose to assign 2 damage to one of the units and 1 damage to each of the remaining 3. They must assign at least 3 damage to one, and the remaining 2 to another.' Tryndamere is Might 8, so a garrison of 8 or more kills him whatever Vi's Might is, and the defender picks him. With no damage marked and nothing else changing Might in the combat, counting the Conquer and the point: 0 doublings, G 1 to 6, 2; 7, 1 (excess 4); 8 to 10, 1 (Tryndamere dies); 11 or more, 0. 1 doubling, G 1 to 7, 2; 8 to 13, 1; 14 or more, 0. 2 doublings, G 1 to 7, 2; 8 to 19, 1; 20 or more, 0. 3 doublings, G 1 to 7, 2; 8 to 31, 1; 32 or more, 0. A doubling past the first never buys the point; it buys a Conquer against a bigger garrison. The '15 or less' and '27 or less' above are where the excess clears 5, not where Tryndamere scores. Re-derived on 2026-10-26.
- THE TIGHTEST NUMBER, AND IT IS THE ENTRY'S POINT. Tryndamere is M8, and the defenders assign their own summed Might back (465.2.c) with 465.2.c.3 forcing lethal onto one unit in full first ('Units must have lethal damage assigned to them in full before damage is assigned to a different Unit'). A garrison summing exactly 7 cannot kill him; it can only kill Vi at 6. And 11 - 7 = 4 excess, no point; 14 - 7 = 7 excess, a point. SO ONE DOUBLING — 2 ENERGY AND 1 FURY POWER — IS THE WHOLE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NO POINT AND A POINT AGAINST A 7 MIGHT GARRISON, with Tryndamere surviving to conquer either way. tryndamere-brambleback-conquer buys the same clause with 28 Might in five bodies. CHECKED 2026-10-26 (#464): holds. A garrison of 7 is also the largest at which any number of doublings buys the point (the ladder notable).
- THE 'unless' TAIL OF 465.2.c.4, STATED HONESTLY — the catalogue cites that rule in 18 places and this tail in none of them. In full: 'Units cannot have more damage assigned to them than the minimum required to constitute lethal damage unless no further units remain to have damage assigned to them.' Against a single defender the tail permits dumping the whole sum, which would leave no excess at all. It is a permission, not an instruction: 465.2.c says the player ASSIGNS, and the attacker stops at minimum lethal precisely so the excess exists. R28 = A is untouched.
- WHERE THE THIRD POWER COMES FROM. The project's measured free floor is 2 Power a turn (164.2.b, 161.2.b, 315.3.b / 430.4.a), so the third doubling needs a third rune or the Henge. 135.2.e.5 is why the Henge works at all here: 'Power of any Domain is represented by a swirling rainbow symbol', so its [Add] pays a Fury Power cost. 429.2 makes the Add resolve as soon as it is finalized. CORRECTED 2026-10-26 (#464, the follow-up PR #463 listed for #457): the third doubling buys Might and no point. From 8 summed Might the garrison kills Tryndamere (the ladder notable), and below 8 one doubling already clears the excess, so neither the third Power nor SFD-117 Ancient Henge adds a point against any garrison. The Henge stays in uses[] as what pays the ladder's third rung, which the ceiling notable already says converts into no points.
- 709, AND WHY ONLY THE FIRST DOUBLING CAN FIRE A 'becomes Mighty' PAYOFF. 'A Unit "becomes Mighty" at the moment its Might changes from being less than 5 to being 5 or greater', with the worked example 'A Unit with Might 5 that gets +1 [M] does not become Mighty, because it was already Mighty.' Vi's first doubling (3 to 6) is a becomes-Mighty; the second and third are not. SFD-205 Grand Duelist is the pool's payoff for that clause and it is Body/Order, outside this shell — recorded so nobody adds it later.
- WHAT REFUTES IT. (a) 477.3.c, word for word, with UNL-063 Eclipse in the rules' own worked example: 'Players cannot increase a numeric attribute by a negative amount ... they increase it by 0 instead', so a -Might that resolves BEFORE the double makes the double add nothing. Vi's [Deflect] taxes that Eclipse by 1 rainbow (809.1.c, any Domain by 809.1.c.1) and no more. (b) The whole ladder is 'this turn'. (c) Both bodies must survive the combat. CORRECTED 2026-10-26 (#464, the follow-up PR #463 listed for #457): (c) is Tryndamere only, and only for the point (the easy prerequisite): a garrison of 8 or more summed Might kills him whatever Vi's Might is.
- AND THE HONEST CEILING OF THE WHOLE LENS. Nothing in the pool converts the SIZE of a Might into points: the only bridge is OGN-034's threshold of 5, and the other five excess-damage payoffs (SFD-120 Sivir Ambitious, UNL-018, UNL-187, UNL-188, UNL-217) ask for 3 or 5 and pay nothing more for more. SFD-120 is the only one that scales, and what it scales into is damage. That is why an uncapped Might ladder is an ENGINE and never a BURST.
Steps
- Vi and Tryndamere at your base, both ready (143.4 made them enter exhausted; 315.1.b readies them in the Awakening).
- Main Phase: pay 2 Energy + 1 Fury Power to double Vi. 3 becomes 6, and 709 makes that a 'becomes Mighty'. 477.3.b snapshots it, so a second doubling would read 6 and give +6.
- Standard-Move both into a battlefield the opponent garrisons (144.4.a, cost 144.2 / 420.3.a). 450 and 190.3.a.1 apply Contested.
- The Cleanup stages the Combat (323.9) and 323.13 opens it; 464.2.c.1 and 464.2.c.3 make both of them Attackers.
- Combat Damage Step: assign your summed 14 among their bodies, stopping at minimum lethal on each (465.2.c, 465.2.c.3, 465.2.c.4). Against a garrison summing 7 that leaves 7 excess.
- They assign 7 back and 465.2.c.3 makes them kill Vi rather than fail to kill Tryndamere. Tryndamere conquers, his clause sees 5 or more excess, and he scores 1 point on top of the Conquer's own (R2 = A, 471.1). CORRECTED 2026-10-26 (#464, the follow-up PR #463 listed for #457): 465.2.c.3 does not make them kill Vi. It forbids splitting damage before one unit has lethal in full, and the defender may put all 7 on Tryndamere, which kills nobody (465.2.c.4 caps a unit at its lethal and 7 is under 8). Either way Tryndamere is alive at the Conquer, which is what the point needs.
Per iteration
one doubling per 2 Energy + 1 Fury Power, compounding, and the 5-excess clause bought for that instead of for 28 Might in bodies
How it ends
engine only — the ladder is 'this turn' and the point is one per Conquer, capped by 470 at one Score per battlefield per turn

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-might-buff-lens.md), issue #97 candidate 4. REWRITTEN: THE ISSUE'S ARITHMETIC LEAVES ITS OWN PAYOFF OUT OF THE COMBAT. It computes 5 excess from Vi attacking alone, but Vi carries no excess payoff and 464.2.c.3 + 465.2.c put the payoff body's Might into the same sum, so Tryndamere alone already clears the threshold against a thin garrison and the doubling buys nothing there. The walk re-derived the ladder against a FAT garrison and found the tight number the issue does not have: against a garrison summing 7, one doubling is exactly the difference between 4 excess (no point) and 7 excess (a point), and 465.2.c.3 is why Tryndamere survives it either way. It also states the 'unless' tail of 465.2.c.4, which the catalogue cites in 18 places and had never quoted, and resolves it as a permission the attacker declines — R28 = A untouched. Domain corrected: mono-Fury without the Henge, Fury/Body with it. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened and read: 103.1.b.1, 135.2.e.5, 143.4, 144.2, 144.4.a, 190.3.a.1, 315.1.b, 323.9, 323.13, 420.3.a, 429.2, 450, 464.2.c.1, 464.2.c.3, 465.2.c, 465.2.c.3, 465.2.c.4, 470, 471.1, 477.3.b, 477.3.c, 709, 809.1.c, 809.1.c.1. Ban check: UNL-030, OGN-034, SFD-117 and the four Fury/Body legends carry no [BANNED marker. Trap check: the attack is legitimate, with a garrison present when the Combat opens (461, 383.4.e, 807.1.d); all spending is Main Phase (167); no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no token; no recall. Stands on R28 = A and R2 = A, both ruled on issue #11; depends on no unruled reading. REVISED 2026-10-26 (#464, the follow-up PR #463 listed for #457): dated corrections on the 'both must survive' prerequisite, the ladder notable, the third-Power notable, refute (c) and step 6. Only Tryndamere has to survive, and only for the point (383.4.c.2.a, 365.1; 466.5 gives Control to whoever has units left). The defender chooses the deaths (465.2.c, 465.2.c.3) and kills Tryndamere from a garrison of 8, so the point needs G <= 6 with no doubling and G <= 7 with any number. The entry's own claim, one doubling is the difference at a garrison of 7, holds, and 7 is the largest garrison at which a doubling buys the point. Class stays ENGINE, status verified.
