Vilemaw holds the Grove of the God-Willow — the unit draws and the battlefield draws
Pieces
- Vilemaw ×1
UNL-060 · payoff · calm
[Ambush] (You may play me as a [Reaction] to a battlefield where you have units.) Enemy units here with less Might than me don't deal combat damage. When I hold, draw 1.

OGN-280 · battlefield
When you hold here, draw 1.
Payoff
Deck
- Legend domains are Calm and Mind: OGN-255 Nine-Tailed Fox (Ahri), which the source plays; the Grove is Colorless, so 103.1.b.1 never touches it.
Prerequisites
- THE BATTLEFIELD IS RANDOM AND CANNOT BE DOUBLED UP: random 1 of 3 in Duel (485.5) and Skirmish (487.5), chosen in Match (486.5); 103.4.c and Tournament Rules 402.1 forbid a second copy by name. Every turn the Grove is not the one drawn, this entry is Vilemaw alone.
- VILEMAW'S OTHER CLAUSE IS WHAT MAKES THE HOLD REPEAT, and it is worth reading precisely: 'Enemy units here with less Might than me don't deal combat damage'. At 8 Might that is most of the pool, but it is not [Tank] and not immunity - an 8+ Might attacker fights him normally and nothing stops spells.
- 8 Energy and 2 Power is the real barrier, not the rules. [Ambush] lets him arrive as a [Reaction] to a battlefield where you already have units, which is how the cost gets paid on a turn that also does something else.
- The draws are a liability past the point where the Main Deck runs thin: 431.1.a Burns Out and 194.1.d hands the opponent a point. Two a turn arrives faster than one.
Steps
- Hold or take the Grove of the God-Willow with any body.
- Play Vilemaw there - [Ambush] lets him come down as a Reaction to a battlefield where you have units.
- Survive the opponent's turn; 8 Might plus the no-combat-damage clause does most of that work.
- Your Beginning Phase: 315.2.b.2 Holds the Grove. It Scores 1 point (469.2) and both hold effects fire - the Grove draws 1, Vilemaw draws 1.
- Repeat every turn.
Per iteration
+2 cards and +1 point per turn from one battlefield
How it ends
engine only - two cards a turn while he holds, and the deck is finite

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-issue62-table-of-fourteen.md), issue #62 section 2.6. OGN-255 Nine-Tailed Fox had no entry before this. The pairing is simple and the walk's contribution is the two things around it: the battlefield is drawn at random and cannot be stacked (485.5, 103.4.c, TR 402.1), which every battlefield-dependent entry in this catalogue states; and two draws a turn on a finite Main Deck is the liability CLAUDE.md has carried since the first session, not pure profit. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Trap check: no attack designation; no [Repeat]; no [Temporary]; no token; no recall. Depends on no unruled reading - R8 is cited for completeness but the two triggers here do not need to share a controller to both fire.
