A hidden removal spell can only ever answer at a battlefield you control - so the body that holds the hide is half the card

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Play Jeweled Colossus (5 Energy) and hold a battlefield with it; [Vision] filters your top card on the way in.
  2. On your turn in an Open State, pay 1 rainbow Power to hide Wages of Pain facedown there (811.1.b).
  3. 323.6 cannot strip your Control while the Colossus stands, so the hide survives.
  4. From the next turn the spell has [Reaction] and costs nothing to play; its [Action] permission (806.1.c.1) also lets it land inside a showdown.
  5. Kill an attacker of 3 Might or less AT THAT BATTLEFIELD - 811.1.d.2 confines the target there - and take a Gold gear token exhausted.
  6. The Gold is 1 Power of any domain from your next Awakening, and a gear for every count clause in the meantime.

Per iteration

one attacker of up to 3 Might removed for 1 rainbow Power in total, plus a Gold gear token, once per hidden copy

How it ends

engine only - one facedown per battlefield and two battlefields in a Duel (811.1.b, 485.4), three copies by 103.2.b, and the answer only ever reaches a battlefield you control; nothing here scores

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07 (issue #188). The first entry to use SFD-070 Wages of Pain or OGN-086 Jeweled Colossus. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened and quoted: 103.1.b.3, 103.2.b, 143.2.a, 185.2.d, 187.5, 323.6, 415.3.a, 416.1.a, 431.1.c, 469, 485.4, 806.1.c.1, 811.1.b, 811.1.d, 811.1.d.2, 814.1.c, 815.1.b, 817.1.b. The Control-dependence of a hide is the same finding this session recorded in the Body lane on pakaa-cub-determined-sentry-hidden-anchor, applied to a spell whose 811.1.d.2 restriction makes it defence-only; the two entries name each other. Ban check: neither card is banned or restricted; neither is a Signature card. No unruled reading.
