Mageseeker Warden in front of Tianna Crownguard — every shortcut onto her battlefield is closed, and the garrison that has to fight through is frozen
Pieces
- Mageseeker Warden ×1
OGN-070 · enabler · calm
While I'm at a battlefield, opponents can only play units to their base. While I'm at a battlefield, spells and abilities can't ready enemy units and gear.
- Tianna Crownguard ×1
SFD-060 · payoff · calm
[Deflect] (Opponents must pay 1 Power of any domain to choose me with a spell or ability.) While I'm at a battlefield, opponents can't gain points.
Payoff
Deck
- Mono-Calm, so any legend carrying Calm runs both. In the Calm/Order shell of tianna-wildclaw-point-lock that is OGN-261 Radiant Dawn, SFD-247 Emperor of the Sands, UNL-195 Green Father or VEN-147 Eye of Twilight.
- Each card asks only that IT be at a battlefield, not that you control one and not that they share one, so no battlefield is an ingredient here and nothing depends on which of your three came up (485.4.a / 485.5 / 486.5 / 487.5).
Prerequisites
- THE WARDEN DOES NOT SLOW THE ORDINARY ROUTE, AND ISSUE #100 SAID IT DOES. Its arithmetic was 'under the Warden every enemy body takes two turns to arrive: play it at base on turn N (143.4 enters it exhausted), Awaken readies it on turn N+1 and only then can it pay the Standard Move'. Every step is true and the delta is zero, because 144.4 gives a Standard Move only two destinations - 144.4.a base to battlefield, 144.4.b battlefield to base - and 144.4.c.1 adds battlefield to battlefield only for [Ganking]. The base is the staging area with or without the Warden. Those two turns are 143.4 plus 315.1.b, not this card.
- WHAT HE ACTUALLY TAKES AWAY, and it is three routes, not a delay. (1) The seven cards that grant 355.2.b: OGN-161 Deadbloom Predator and SFD-093 Dauntless Vanguard say 'You may play me to an occupied enemy battlefield' and land STRAIGHT ON Tianna with no walk; OGN-174 Sai Scout, OGN-176 Sneaky Deckhand, OGN-193 Miss Fortune Buccaneer (who grants it to every friendly unit) and VEN-115 Ocean Drake say 'open battlefield'; and the battlefield VEN-157 Dragon Roost sells the same permission for two rainbow. 054.1 - 'Cards that forbid actions or effects... supersede cards that allow or permit that same action or effect' - kills all seven. (2) The 15 [Hidden] units of the pool, for good: 811.1.b hides at 'a battlefield you control', 811.1.d.1 forces the play 'to that battlefield', 107.3.c keeps that battlefield theirs, and 054.2 ('only') leaves the card face down for the rest of the game. (3) Reinforcing a battlefield they control: the defender has to be played to base and spend a turn there, so the summed Might you have to beat (465.2.c) is fixed from the moment you commit.
- THE LEAK, NAMED: 26 [Accelerate] units. 805.1.a is 'As you play me, you may pay [1][C] as an additional cost. If you do, I enter ready', 143.4.a says outright that Accelerate alters the default, and 'enters ready' is not a Ready - 415.1 defines Readying as marking an object already on the board - so the Warden's second clause never touches it. An Accelerate body is played to base ready and walks in the same turn. The card that closes it is UNL-150 Vex, Apathetic; vex-warden-accelerate-lock is that entry.
- The Warden is M5 and prints no [Deflect], which reads like the obvious answer - kill him with a spell, the one thing he does not deny. In the shell this entry belongs to that is already covered: UNL-057 Alpha Wildclaw, the third body of tianna-wildclaw-point-lock, reads 'Your units here with less Might than me can't be chosen by enemy spells and abilities' at 7 Might, and 5 is less than 7. He walks in behind the same cover as Tianna (4) and both Galio (6).
- It stops points, not winning, exactly as tianna-wildclaw-point-lock already documents: 194.1 lists the four ways to gain points and 194.2 makes winning a separate thing, so the catalogue's ALT_WIN lines go straight through. This is a wall that buys turns.
- The second clause is a real half and easy to skip: 'spells and abilities can't ready enemy units and gear'. An attacker that already spent its exhaust cannot be readied to move again. The Awaken is a turn step (315.1.b), not a spell or ability, so it keeps working - the clause slows a turn, it does not freeze a board.
- 13 Energy and 3 Power for the pair (6+1 and 7+2), and 143.4 enters each exhausted, so the pair is at least two turns of paying for it before either clause is on.
- A LOCK ON POINTS IS NOT A LOCK ON TRIGGERS, AND THIS ENTRY DOES NOT SAY WHICH ONE IT SELLS (upgrade 2026-09-12, #187 batch 33). **383.4.c.2.c**: *"If the act of gaining one point from Conquering is negated or replaced in any way, the Conquer Effect will still trigger"*, with 383.4.d.2.c the identical sentence for Holding. `SFD-060 Tianna Crownguard` negates *the gaining of one point* — which is the exact word those paragraphs are written for — so **the opponent still CONQUERS and every Conquer Effect they control still fires**: they take the battlefield under 348.2.a or 466.5, and they still fire `UNL-187 Piltover Enforcer`s ready, `SFD-187 Void Burrower`s dig, and `UNL-195 Green Father`s Brush replacement. The same holds for a Hold under 383.4.d.2.c. Both paragraphs were cited only inside conquer ARITHMETIC before this, never in the denial lens where they actually bite.
- THE FACEDOWN ZONE IS NOT A LOCATION, AND IT IS THE SAME SENTENCE THIS PROJECT USES ON THE LEGEND ZONE (#204, from #187 batch 19). 107.4.b - 'This is not a location' - is cited 26 times here and is what kills the whole legend-plus-Reckoner's-Arena family, because 'here' cannot reach a zone that is not a location. 107.3.e is the identical sentence for the Facedown Zone and was cited by nothing in 766 entries. Three uncited paragraphs finish the profile: 421.3 gives a facedown card no properties of its own except what the hiding effect grants, so it is not a unit, has no Might and no domain; 107.3.f makes the ZONE public while the CARD is private, which is why 'if you control a facedown card' is a legal thing for a card to read; and 421.4 reveals it to all players if it changes zones.
Steps
- Take a battlefield and put Tianna Crownguard on it (7 Energy + 2 Power). From the moment she is AT a battlefield, opponents gain no points by any of the four routes of 194.1.
- Play the Mageseeker Warden to a battlefield (6 Energy + 1 Power). From that moment their units can only be played to their base (054.2).
- The two cards that would drop a body straight onto Tianna - OGN-161 and SFD-093 - are switched off by 054.1, and so are the four 'open battlefield' cards and VEN-157 Dragon Roost.
- Their 15 [Hidden] units stay face down permanently: 811.1.d.1 needs a battlefield they control and the Warden forbids the play there.
- Every body that comes at the wall does so from their base, one Standard Move at a time (144.4.a), and cannot be readied for a second move by any spell or ability.
How it ends
engine only - the opponent's score is frozen while Tianna stands and every shortcut onto her battlefield is closed; it advances no clock of your own

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-06 (docs/phase0/walks/2026-09-06-denial-lens-candidates.md), issue #100 candidate 1, REWRITTEN. The pair is real and the class is right; the arithmetic the issue sold it on is not. 'Under the Warden each enemy body takes two turns to arrive' is true and true without him, because 144.4 makes base-to-battlefield the only Standard Move a unit without [Ganking] has. The rewrite replaces the delay claim with the three routes he actually closes (the seven 355.2.b permissions, the 15 hidden units, reinforcement of a controlled battlefield), names the leak the issue's own finding D.5 implies but never counts (26 [Accelerate] units, 805.1.a + 143.4.a + 415.1), and answers the issue's own refutation - 'the Warden is M5 without Deflect, they kill him with a spell' - with UNL-057 Alpha Wildclaw, which is already in tianna-wildclaw-point-lock and makes every friendly unit under 7 Might unchoosable.
