Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Play Mask of Foresight (2 Energy). It is a standing permanent and its trigger has no cost. CORRECTED 2026-10-18 (#415, from the run play docs/plays/2026-10-18-the-wielder-and-the-mask-each-do-the-others-job-and-a-plain-body-does-both.md): the order is wrong. Units enter exhausted (143.4: "Units enter the Board exhausted.") and the Mask needs no ready turn, so the lone body goes down first and the Mask on the turn of its first lone combat. Walked as the entry orders it, the Mask on T1 took the turn the first body needed, and all three lines from there ended 2 to 3, against 5 to 2.
  2. Send exactly one unit to a battlefield. 740.2.a checks only your own side, so the enemy garrison's size is irrelevant to whether it is alone.
  3. The Mask fires for +1, and a Wielder of Water adds its own +2 - 2 + 2 + 1 = 5 Might, which is Mighty by 709.
  4. Read 465.2.c before committing: a lone attacker assigns one body's Might and receives the whole garrison's.
  5. In a Duel the Mask pays twice a round if you keep one body at each of the two battlefields (485.4). CORRECTED 2026-10-18 (#415, from the run play docs/plays/2026-10-18-the-wielder-and-the-mask-each-do-the-others-job-and-a-plain-body-does-both.md): there is no round. It pays once per combat a lone body of yours is in, and the opponent decides how many of their attacks there are (the any-lone-body notable).

Per iteration

+1 Might per lone body per combat from the Mask, and +2 more on a Wielder of Water

How it ends

engine only - the Mask has no cap and no cost, but every point of it is paid for by keeping a battlefield garrisoned by exactly one body; nothing here scores CORRECTED 2026-10-18 (#415, from the run play docs/plays/2026-10-18-the-wielder-and-the-mask-each-do-the-others-job-and-a-plain-body-does-both.md): true of the cards, but the walked line's points come from what they let a lone body take and keep. Against an opponent who stacks their own battlefield and never attacks, nothing of yours fights alone and the engine is blank: 3 to 3 with or without it.

How this entry was audited

REFUTE = a refutation pass, with its date and verdict · WOUNDED = the pass found a flaw and the entry was rewritten · BUDGETED = the pass checked the recycle-and-draw ledger · lens = the hunt that proposed it.

HAND-WALKED 2026-09-07 (issue #188). The first entry to use OGN-055 Wielder of Water or OGN-060 Mask of Foresight. Card text verbatim from data/corpus_flat.txt. Citations opened and quoted: 103.1.b.3, 103.2.b, 323.9, 465.2.c, 465.2.c.3, 469, 485.4, 702.3, 703, 709, 740.2.a, 740.2.b, 807.1.d. The entry leads with the definition because the obvious reading of 'alone' is about the ENEMY and 740.2.a says the opposite; this project reached the same conclusion from Lonely Poro's reminder text, and 740.2.a is the paragraph. The cost is stated in the notable rather than hidden: a lone raider is a bad attacker by 465.2.c. Ban check: neither card is banned or restricted; neither is a Signature card. No unruled reading. REVISED 2026-10-18 (#415, from the run play docs/plays/2026-10-18-the-wielder-and-the-mask-each-do-the-others-job-and-a-plain-body-does-both.md): the play's leads are applied as dated notes. The entry stays verified: the play found it right about the definition (740.2.a) and that none of the bonuses is a buff, and the corrections are to half a sentence about damage assignment, the steps' order, the Duel arithmetic, and what the pair is worth against a plain 3-Might body. No unruled reading.
